McKenna Taylor, MA

Hi, I’m McKenna. I’m a professional counselor working towards licensure. I received a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and I am currently practicing under the clinical supervision of Rachel Downer, LPC/MHSP.

I primarily work with individuals, couples, and families whose relationship challenges contribute to depression, anxiety, and other mental health issues. Using attachment-based, narrative, and integrative approaches, I invite clients to explore their stories with me and develop the capacity for belonging in community. Rather than “fix,” I’d love to offer you camaraderie and research-based guidance in nuanced areas.

I have foundational experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults who present with social anxiety, self-injury, suicidal ideation, and pervasive dysregulation. I’m skilled in responding to acute emotional distress by modeling secure-based therapeutic relationships. I’m adept at applying attachment-informed Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) techniques, particularly in the context of trauma and ineffective coping skills. I’m committed to providing empathetic, client-centered care with a focus on promoting long-term emotional, social, and psychological resilience.

In my free time, you may find me cycling, swimming, or reading in the community!

Let’s see if we’re a good fit, reach out for a free consultation!

McKenna is under the supervision of Rachel Cox, LPC-MHSP.
